Kalorama Chestnut Festival Fundraising Beneficiaries

The funds raised at the Kalorama Chestnut Festival go to the Mount Dandenong Preschool and Mount Dandenong Primary School to create an amazing education environment and to enhance the learning experiences of the children who attend now and in the future.

The Festival is run by a committee of volunteers from the preschool and the primary school.

Mount Dandenong Preschool and Mount Dandenong Primary School

Our amazing little preschool and primary school is in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges, Victoria, Australia.

At an elevation of 500m / 1650ft, cool temperate rainforest surrounds us, consisting of towering eucalypts and ancient tree ferns with a fantastic variety of wildlife, including one of the world’s best mimics- the Lyrebird. The Dandenong Ranges are about 60 minutes drive from the centre of Melbourne.

Following the destruction of the original Tourist Road preschool site, kindergarten sessions ran out of Olinda Primary School. We are excited to announce that construction on the new Mount Dandenong Preschool is now complete. The kindergarten is now located on the Primary School site, which allows for a greater connection between the kindergarten and the school. This will make the transition from kindergarten to school smoother for our Mt D kids.

Mount Dandenong Preschool and Mount Dandenong Primary School acknowledge the Wurundjeri and other Kulin Nations as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of these lands and waterways. We pay our respects to all Elders, past, present, and emerging, who have been, and always will be, integral to the story of our region. We proudly share custodianship to care for Country together.
