Did you know&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Fresh chestnut fruits have about 180 calories (800 kJ) per 100 grams of edible parts, which is much lower than walnuts, almonds, other nuts and dried fruit (about 600 kcal\/100 g).<\/p>\n<p>Chestnuts contain no cholesterol and contain very little fat, mostly unsaturated, and\u00a0no gluten.<a ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/chestnutfestival.com.au\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/chestnut-heart-200.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-206\" alt=\"chestnut\" src=\"http:\/\/chestnutfestival.com.au\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/chestnut-heart-200.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"229\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>They are the only &#8220;nuts&#8221; that contain vitamin C, with about 40 mg per 100 g of raw product, which is about 65 percent of the recommended daily intake.
