Sustainability at the Kalorama Chestnut Festival

We revere our environment here, surrounded by the breath-taking beauty of the Dandenong Ranges.

It’s a precious gift, and we’re committed to protecting it in every way we can. But we can’t do it alone – everyone’s actions make a real difference.

At our Festival, our green initiatives focus on ethical practices and waste reduction. It’s about more than enjoying the day; it’s about doing so in a way that honours our environment.

We are dedicated to promoting environmental responsibility in everything we do.

You can make a difference and bring your own:

Keep Cup

Water Bottles

Reusable Bag

Every small action adds up to make a big impact, and together, everyone can help preserve the natural beauty that surrounds us.

When you attend the Festival, consider taking public transportation to reduce your carbon footprint further. There is a bus stop conveniently located across the road.

Kalorama Chestnut Festival Supporters

We thank each of our generous sponsors. Their support makes the Kalorama Chestnut Festival possible and helps raise funds for our kinder and school.

Getting to the Kalorama Chestnut Festival

The Kalorama Chestnut Festival is held at
Kalorama Memorial Reserve
Mount Dandenong Tourist Road
Kalorama Vic 3766

There are approximately 100 car parks available on site. The Ferny Creek Club Scouts manage parking around the oval on the day and charge $5 per car, with proceeds going to the Scouts.

There is limited parking available along the Mount Dandenong Tourist Road and surrounding streets. When you snag a car park, please respect the neighbours and avoid parking in, over, or opposite driveways.

Can I Catch Public Transport to the Kalorama Chestnut Festival?

Yes, you can! We recommend it. It takes the hassle out of finding a parking spot and helps reduce pollution.

We recommend parking in one of the nearby villages or at the foot of the mountain and catching the bus to the Kalorama Reserve.

Plan your travel times before the festival using the journey planner on the Public Transport Victoria website.
