The Chestnut Festival – Hosted by the Mt Dandenong Pre-School.

First Sunday in May each year at the Kalorama Reserve.

Chestnuts have been grown in Australia for over 100 years and our Chestnut Festival has been going for over 30 years. It is an amazing effort for a little Preschool and is co-ordinated by parents and friends. It is our main fundraiser for the year and we put a lot of time into making it a great day out for all the family.

The Festival started as a ‘Chestnut Roast’ within the pre-school grounds at Mt Dandenong and has grown into a major event in the Dandenong Ranges, held at the Kalorama Reserve on the first Sunday of May each year.

We host a number of stalls ourselves and also invite other market stall holders to attend which makes for a colourful event, along with fairground rides and buskers. Our stalls include roast chestnuts (of course), hot food, poffertjes, devonshire teas, cakes, coffee, raffles….
